The announced wipe scope
The official installation announcement explicitly covers stress-test characters, character names and guilds. The forum also describes a complete wipe of test content. These statements refer to what is created in the stress test.
They should not be rewritten as a deletion of your Battle.net account or unrelated live-game characters. This guide also does not infer preservation rules for every beta character or client setting from the stress-test wipe notice.
A test name is not a reserved launch name
Choosing a name during the test does not give you launch ownership of it. The separate early name-reservation period runs October 27 to November 3, with eligibility tied to the announced Skyborne Heroic Pack, Skyborne Epic Pack or Warcraft Forever Collection.
Even qualifying for early reservation does not guarantee a specific name; the official pre-purchase announcement describes first-come, first-served availability. See the name-reservation page before purchasing for that purpose.
How to approach a temporary character
Try the actions Blizzard wants to test rather than treating the character as permanent progression. Questing, chatting, trading and grouping all exercise parts of the regional hardware.
You can make personal notes or screenshots of choices you want to revisit, but those are your own references. We have no confirmed promise that every UI setting, addon state or beta configuration will carry across installations.
Keep access rules separate
Free access during the stress test does not make the launched game permanently free. Normal launch play requires a subscription or Game Time under the official release information.
For questions about account-specific losses, purchases or saved settings, consult Blizzard Support. This independent guide cannot inspect your game account and never needs your login credentials.
